Betty Lawrence Ballard, 81, of Asheville, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late James and Carrie Lawrence. Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron from 1999-2000. She was a volunteer at the VA Hospital and Mission Hospital for over 13 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Swannanoa, where she sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Danny Ballard.
Betty is survived by her brother, James “Jimmy” Lawrence (Woreen) of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Swannanoa. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
