Obituary for Lennie Mote Banks

Lennie Mote  Banks
Lennie Mote Banks, 93, passed away October 22, 2014.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was born on August 5, 1921 to the late John Clingman and Vesta Allen Banks. Lennie was a charter member of Christian Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Trula Dean Banks; son, Roger A. Banks; brothers, Grady and Jeff Banks; sisters, Gertrude Wilson, Bathilda Bateman, Ellen Watkins, Alice Fuller and Dora Garris.
Lennie is survived by his wife, Vivian Banks; his children, Kenneth Banks (Gladys), John Banks (Mary Jane), and Sharon Clark (Gary); step-children, Lynn Bright (Clayton) and Max Frisbee (Pam); daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Banks; grandchildren, Kevin, Darrell, Lisa, Rodney, Terry, Tanya, Tracy, Tabitha, Christy, Jennifer and Andy; 5 step-grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christian Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robby Leighton officiating. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, c/o Kenneth Banks, 94 Dillingham Circle, Asheville, NC 28805.
