Obituary for Louis Edward Croghan

Louis Edward Croghan, 83, of Swannanoa, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014.
He was born November 15, 1931 in Kentucky to the late John Edward and Cora Frances Hill Croghan. Louis served as a US Marine in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Swannanoa, NC.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Larry David Croghan.
Louis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Polly Kilpatrick Croghan; grandsons, Aaron Lee Croghan and wife Missy of Louisville, KY, and Philip Edward Croghan and wife Milissa of Virginia Beach, VA; great grandchildren, Aiden, Colin, Kayla, Ellie, and Eva Lyn; sister, Maxine Seigle and husband Wynand of Louisville, KY; brothers-in-laws, Roy Kilpatrick and wife Margaret of Conover, NC, Harley Kilpatrick of Rapid City, SD, Donald Kilpatrick and wife Betty of Lusby, MD, and Jimmy Kilpatrick and wife Carolyn of Swannanoa, NC; sisters-in-law, Linda Calloway and husband Richard of Swannanoa, NC, and Beunie Kilpatrick of Campbell, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with a reception immediately after.
Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 102 Andrew Place, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
