Obituary for Margaret Blizard

Margaret  Blizard
Margaret Blizard, 95, of Black Mountain, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab.
Mrs. Blizard was born September 27, 1919 in Ash County and was a resident of Buncombe County. She was a devoted Christian and a member of First Baptist Church Black Mountain for 64 years. Mrs. Blizard was preceded in death by her parents, William Heggie and Mollie Eller McNeill; husband, Thomas Blizard, Sr.; son, James McNeill Blizard; daughter, Barbara Orr; brothers, Robert, Frank and Edward McNeill; and a sister, Frances Bradford.
Surviving are her son, Tom Blizard, Jr. (Dixie) of Black Mountain; four grandchildren, Allen Blizard (Donna), Chris Blizard (Dawn), Andrea Sellers (Ronnie) and Melissa Blizard; six great-grandchildren and a special niece, Mary Simmons.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church Black Mountain with the Reverends Bill Henderson and David Rayburn officiating. Burial will be held in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Black Mountain, 130 Montreat Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab, 611 Old Hwy 70 East, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff of Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab for the love and care shown towards Mrs. Blizard.
