Obituary for Jerry L. Morris

Jerry L. Morris
Jerry Louis Morris, 63, of Black Mountain went to be with the Lord at 2:00 on Sunday, February 1, 2015 after a prolonged illness.
Jerry was born October 26, 1951 to the late Gilbert Roy and Celine Pauline Tissens Morris.
HIs parents had met and married during World War II in Antwerp, Belgium, coming home to live in North Fork. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Black Mountain.
Jerry was an avid motorcycle rider, and he loved boating, camping and picnicking with his family and friends. He was very dedicated to his occupation of choice, tool-and-die making. Jerry loved his friends and neighbors dearly, and was especially fond of all the family pets, particularly his bird, Einstein, and his little cat, Polly. He was quite proud of his children, and the people that they had become over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn Burgess Morris; their son, Marc Gerritte Morris and wife Kimberly Fullbright Morris and their children, Cristina and Celine, and their daughter Jennifer Lynne Morris and her husband Eric James Gibson and their children E.J., Erica, Becca and Constance.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 5:00 pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals.
The family would be honored by your presence; in the event you cannot attend, please remember them in prayer.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for all the condolences, offerings, and support by their many friends. They would also like to thank the kind staff of Memorial Mission Hospital, and Mountain Area Hospice for the care given to him.
As Jerry was very interested in supporting the efforts of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s.
