Obituary for Carroll Earl Owensby
Carroll Owensby, 74, of Black Mountain passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Mr. Owensby was born December 26, 1940 in McDowell County.
Carroll was a veteran of the US Navy Sea Bees where he served during the Vietnam War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Dewey Connor; and brother in law, Sid Stone.
Carroll is survived by three sisters, Pat Connor Kelly and husband, Dean; Phyllis Connor Stone Rogers and husband, Bud; and Cathy Connor Davis and husband, Everett; two nephews; five nieces; several great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:00am in the chapel of The Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
