Johnny has left a big empty place in Black Mountain. I remember when he would come by Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry to visit his sisters. He would be making plans for the Christmas Cheer program. Many kids in our valley would not have had any presents under the tree were it not for Johnny.
What I was always admired & appreciated about Johnny was how he treated our son Brian. He always spoke to him at the Huddle House or wherever they ran into each other. I always felt Johnny was looking out for Brian. Brian knew he had a friend in Johnny..

Condolence: Johnny was a kind and hardworking person and always had time to stop and talk. He was a wonderful advocate and director of Christmas Cheer and a great presence to the Town of Black Mountain.
