Margaret “Cissy” Dillingham Eckard, 66, of Hickory, NC passed away March 22, 2015 at home with family.
Cissy was born May 21, 1948 in Buncombe County. She became a resident of Catawba County after her marriage to Jerry Eckard. Cissy was an active member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church of Hickory, NC for many years.
Cissy is preceded in death by her father, Oscar M. Dillingham; husband, Jerry Eckard; and brother, Jay R. Dillingham.
She is survived by her mother, Irene A. Dillingham of Black Mountain, NC; son, Edward L. Fowler of Missouri; step-son, Leland Eckard and Family of Hickory, NC; step-daughters, Sarah Cook and Family of Connelly Springs, NC, and Jamie Smart and Family of Hickory, NC; sister, Melissa D. Pope (Steve) of Black Mountain, NC; brothers, Chick Dillingham (Shannan) of Asheville, NC, and Freddie Dillingham (Ann) of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Eric Lee Fowler and Justin Ray Fowler and their parents Brian and Jennifer Corley of Hawaii; special cousin, Michael Atkins of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Rev. Len Keever officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church – LCMS with Pastor Dave Guelzow officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
