Iris R. McMahan, 87, of Black Mountain passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Mrs. McMahan was born May 15, 1927 to the late John and Jane McMahan.
The most important things in life to Iris was her family, friends, laughter and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Iris is survived by her daughters, Tina Gillette (Donald) and Alvena Gesswein; sons, Herman Hollifield (Christine), Sherman Hollifield (Gladys), and Vincent “Sam” Lee; 18 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 23 great great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 13, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
