Charles “Buck” Dotson, Sr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2015 at The John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
Buck was born on October 13, 1938 in Black Mountain, NC and was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Buck was the son of the late Jess Dotson and Josephine Hinson. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Davis and Pauline Sloop and grandson, Joshua Moore.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Charlotte of the home; sister, Mary McMahan (James) of Black Mountain; three sons, Kenneth Dotson (Melisa) of Pennsylvania, Neal Dotson (Karen) of Swannanoa and Charles Dotson, Jr. of Swannanoa; daughters, Brenda Dotson of Swannanoa and Gloria Ball (Richard) of Marion. Also parented in the home, granddaughters, Crystal Spillars (Jason) and Savannah Burleson; eight additional grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Buck was employed at Charles D. Owen High School for over 40 years. He had a passion for gardening, flowers, fishing, hunting, and NASCAR. Buck will be forever remembered for his great love of family. Our community has lost a great man and friend.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 27, 2015 in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with the Reverend Frank Cantrell and Reverend Randy Stone officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence, 754 Old US Hwy 70, Swannanoa.
