Doris Jeanette West Burleson, 81, of Asheville passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Mrs. Burleson was born April 21, 1934 in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. She was employed with The Cove and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Harold and Minnie Belle Harris West; husband, Robert Wayne Burleson; and brother, John Harold West, Jr.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Sherry Ward Lawing and husband, Danny of Swannanoa, Cindy Ward Dunn and husband, Steve of Leicester, and Denise Ward Cody and husband, Tim of Asheville; sisters, Nellie Rogers and Carolyn McCurry both of Asheville; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00am in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with the Reverend James Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Sky View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
