Obituary for Mary "Janie" Byrd
Mary “Janie” Byrd, 83, of Black Mountain passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
Mrs. Byrd was born March 22, 1932 in Avery County to the late Homer and Lottie Buchanan Pittman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sam F. Byrd, Sr.; three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by her daughter, Annah Browning (Randy) of Beaufort, SC; sons, Frank D. Byrd of Marshall and Sam F. Byrd, Jr. (Cindy) of Black Mountain; four grandchildren, Jason Byrd, Jessica B. Miller, Peyton Byrd, and Erin Byrd; one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Byrd.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00am in Mountain View Memorial Park with Rev. Doctor Ann Laird Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CarePartners Hospice, 68 Sweeten Creek Rd., Asheville, NC 28813.
