Paul Edward Smith, Sr., 91, of Black Mountain, passed away June 12, 2015.
Mr. Smith was born January 30, 1924 to the late Zachary and Dicie Smith.
Paul was a simple man who loved his family, friends, gardening, outdoors, and cookouts. He was a veteran of the US Army, and he retired from Old Fort Finishing plant after 33 years. Paul was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Smith; son, Paul Edward Smith, Jr.; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Charles and Diane Smith.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Burial will be in Smith Family Cemetery.
