We met when I was 17. I was working in a furniture store in Southgate. He was a salesman there. We became fast friends. He was there for me whenever I needed him over the years. We went through some pretty great times and some pretty yucky times. Thick as thieves you could say. He called me last weekend and said he was up from NC and was in front of my house. I wasn't home. We were going to make plans again that weekend. We didn't get a chance to see each other.
We used to talk about our 26 year friendship being such a long time. Now, all I can think of is that it wasn't long enough. My family and I will really feel a loss without Artie in our family.
Thoughts and prayers to all of his family and friends who will feel such great loss from this.
