Obituary for Lillie D. "Granny" Halford (Dotson)

Lillie D. "Granny"  Halford (Dotson)
Lillie Dotson “Granny” Halford, 90, of Black Mountain went to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
A native of Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late James and Dula Hudgins Dotson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Halford; son, Randy Halford; granddaughter, Brooke Freeman; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Halford; as well as 12 brothers and sisters.
Lillie retired from Beacon Mfg. After retirement, she loved to take rides, canning, cooking, her flowers, and most importantly, her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie (Charles) Freeman; sons, Dean Halford and Ronnie Halford (Glenda); grandchildren, Steve (Joyce), Marshall (Connie), Danny (Tracy), Kevin, Kim (Darren), Bryan, Scott, Eric (Melinda), and Colton; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and special nephew, Ray Conner.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Meadowbrook Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Randy Stone and James Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.
