Betty Louise Harmon, 74, of Black Mountain, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015.
Mrs. Harmon was born February 11, 1941 in Buncombe County to the late Lawrence and Annie Bartlett. Betty was an avid cook and worked as one at Highland Farms for 20 years; and she also loved to read and sing. Betty was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her family, grandchildren and friends. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harmon; daughter, Sheila Harmon; and sisters, Joann Slagle and Barbara Swann.
Betty is survived by her children, Steve and Linda Harmon, Jimmy Harmon, and Debbie and Gary Mashburn; brothers, Bruce Bartlett (Brenda), Ronnie Bartlett (Debbie), Scottie Bartlett (Alicia), and Ricky Bartlett (Vanessa); grandchildren, Jojo Mashburn, Tracy Anderson (Lewis), Debbie Adams, and James Owenby; great grandchildren, Sheldon Adams (Melinda), Dylan Marrale, Houston Mashburn, Austin Anderson and Stephen Anderson; and close family friend, John Beddingfield.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
