Obituary for William Louis Bellows

William Louis Bellows, 82, of Charlevoix, Michigan died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
He was born on September 21, 1933 in Margaretville, New York to Milton H. Bellows and Lillian Carey Bellows.
Bill served faithfully in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. He served in North Africa and South Korea. He was in the Strategic Air Command. After his Air Force service he was an electrical contractor with his own business, Bellows Electric, Inc. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Charlevoix Township Fire Department for 18 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and elected to Charlevoix City Council, Second Ward Councilman. Bill and Bonnie always enjoyed attending the Michigan Republican Conventions. Bill was a member of The Knights of Columbus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was an active member of the parish.
Bill is survived by his children; Dona Bellows Burleson (Darryl) of Asheville, NC., William Louis Bellows (Sallie) of Summerfield, NC., Elizabeth Bellows Cook (Bruce) of Black Mountain, NC., Pamela Sutherland McCoy (Wes) of Palm Harbor, FLA., Kimberly Sutherland Pelzel of East Jordan, MI., Stanley Thomas Sutherland of Sparta, WI., 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers; Robert Milton Bellows of Canoga Park, CA., Joseph Edward Bellows of Downsville, NY., sisters: Mary Ruth McGlone of Port Orange, FLA., Margaret Lillian Pine of Hoosick Falls, NY and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years Bonnie Sutherland Bellows; son, Stephen Lynn Bellows; parents, Milton and Lillian; sister, Evelyn Bellows Stonemetz; great granddaughter, Elyssa Lane Roman-Noyola; son in law, James Pelzel.
A Memorial Mass will be at 11:00am, Saturday, January 16, at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Swannanoa, NC. Interment for Bill and Bonnie will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, on a warm sunny day in Charlevoix, MI.
