A.J. Conner, 84, of Fairview, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at NC State Veterans Home.
Mr. Conner was born October 23, 1931 in Henderson County and lived in Buncombe County all his life. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Conner was a member of Nesbitt Chapel Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Ralph and Tina Elsie Marlow Conner; brother, Alvin Conner and sisters, Eva Mae McDevitt and Edna Dotson.
Surviving are his sister, Elsie Benfield (Jack) of Asheville; brother, Charles Conner of Black Mountain; special friend, Glenda Nesbitt and several nieces and a nephew.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Nesbitt Chapel United Methodist Church, 12 Nesbitt Chapel Rd., Fairview, NC 28730.
