Obituary for Capitola Capps (Murrow)

Capitola Capps, 85, of Black Mountain, passed away February 2, 2016.
Mrs. Capps was born November 15, 1930 in South Carolina to the late Barney and Rhoda Murrow. She was a member of Black Mountain Independent Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, O’dell Capps; son, Hoyt Shelley, Jr., and grandson, Ricky Shelley.
Capitola is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Stone (L.B.) of Johnsonville, SC; sons, James Shelley (Wanda) of Elgin, SC, Morris Shelley (Hoa) of Havelock, NC, and Johnny Shelley of Gresham, SC; stepchildren, Patricia Barnhill of Black Mountain, NC, Brenda Housand of Marion, SC and Jerry Capps of Batesburg, SC; sister, Daisy Matthews of Johnsonville, SC; brother, W.M. Murrow of North Charleston, SC; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Rev. Andrew Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to a charity of your choice.
