Obituary for William Francis "Bill" Mayhew Jr.

William Francis "Bill"  Mayhew Jr.
William F. “Bill” Mayhew, Jr., 76, of Black Mountain, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2016.
Bill was born August 25, 1939 in Iredell County, NC to the late William Francis Mayhew, Sr. and Hazel Owen Mayhew. Bill graduated from Erskine College in 1964. He loved Civil War history, playing cards and was an avid reader. Bill was a wise business man and retired from the State of NC at the age of 55. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Gunn Mayhew; and son, William Francis Mayhew, III.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Teresa Mayhew Spach and husband, J. Michael Spach; grandsons, Christopher Michael Spach, William Andrew Mayhew, Jonathan William Spach, and Timothy Harrison Spach.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Harwood Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
