Obituary for John C. Neville Jr.

John C.  Neville Jr.
The Rev. John C. Neville, Jr, 88, of Montreat, North Carolina was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.
He was born in Union, SC on May 14, 1928 to the Rev. John C. Neville, Sr. and Molina Wilson Neville (Peggy). His is preceded in death by both parents and his beloved brother, Edwin Wilson “Nick” Neville. He was a graduate of Presbyterian College and Columbia Theological Seminary.
John Neville was a much loved and greatly admired pastor serving faithfully over 60 years in the Presbyterian Church. He retired from Covenant Presbyterian Church, PCA in Hendersonville NC. He also served the congregations of Holt Presbyterian Church in Columbus, GA; Jackson Street Presbyterian in Alexandria, LA; First Presbyterian Church in Prattville, AL; First Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC and finally as stated supply pastor to various churches located across Western North Carolina, including Friendship Presbyterian Church, Black Mountain, NC. He was involved in the formation of Reformed Theological Seminary, Greenville Theological Seminary, and the Presbyterian Church of America.
Surviving him are his wife of 61 years, Martha Anne Blair Neville; daughter, Peggy Neville; son, John C. Neville, III (wife Linda, granddaughter Jenna, grandson Nathan); daughter, Cathy Humphrey (husband Rich, grandsons Ben and David); and daughter, Martha L. Neville (godchildren Isaiah and Jada).

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC.
