It's often difficult to remember the last exchange you had with someone. I had poked fun at Chris the first day he wore those red ear buds around. I said, "Either that's the longest conversation I've ever seen someone have or you have some great music going." Fast forward to my last day with him at work. I said, "What are you doing man?" He said, "Listen," placing the ear bud close to my ear. I told him I couldn't hear anything. He said, "It's called Press On." So, naturally, I started singing Press On by Building 429. He gave me this strange look, laughed, and said we weren't thinking of the same thing. I told him I knew who sung that. While he stood next to me, I Youtubed the song. It was by a different artist. Different words, but same title, Press On. He told me that was his power house song and got him through. He walked on out into the shop while I finished listening to the song. I thought for a minute and recalled when he had gotten saved. He was so proud to tell me. I, of course, congragulated him. He told everyone that day. Completely glowing, unashamed, and proud. I got a piece of scratch paper and feverishly started writing down my own power house songs. Third Day, Building 429, Plumb, Newsboys, and Jeremy Camp (to name a few). I walked out into the shop and gave it too him, giving my two cents on what I'd written. He held it towards me, waved it, folded it, and put it in his pocket. He said, "Thanks. I'll listen to those." At five, I walked out with him saying the usual, "See ya later." I'll never forget our last words.
