Marie Magdalene “Magda” Mueller Lewis, 93, of Swannanoa, passed away Saturday evening, March 11, 2017. She was a born in Schneeberg, Germany to the late Herman Frederick Mueller and Hulda Ida Trote Mueller. Magda was retired from Beacon Manufacturing. She was a member of Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, J. D. Lewis of Swannanoa; sons, Ronnie Lewis and Ricky Lewis, both of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Dr. Chris Lewis and wife, Anna Beth of Black Mountain and Haley Lewis of Swannanoa; former daughter-in-law, Kim Reynolds of Candler; brother-in-law, Troy Lewis and wife, Valerie of Swannanoa; sister-in-law, Rebecca Watkins of Cleveland, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Ward and Pastor Ted Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30–12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
