Obituary for Tressa Bennett Osborne

Tressa Bennett Osborne, 90, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home.
Tressa was born April 26, 1927 in Ashe County, NC.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Martha Bennett; husband of 51 years, Boyd Osborne; daughter, Linda Osborne Lacey; brothers, Noah Bennett, Walt Bennett, Paul Bennett, Virgil Bennett, Wayne Bennett, Blane Bennett, Conley Bennett and Denver Bennett.
Tressa is survived by her son, Paul Osborne of Black Mountain, NC; daughters, Martha Osborne Dillingham of Clyde, NC, Kim Osborne Lewis and husband, Steve of Swannanoa, NC; son-in-law, Dennis Lacey of Banner Elk, NC; grandchildren, Ronnie Dillingham and wife, Becky of Waynesville, NC, Tami Dillingham Mowery of Clyde, NC, Eddie Dillingham of Swannanoa, NC, Jimmy Dillingham of Swannanoa, NC, Teddy Dillingham and wife, Valerie of Clyde, NC, Denise Lacey Aldridge and husband, Kevin of Banner Elk, NC, Lindsey Lacey of Banner Elk, NC, Stephanie Lewis-Leatherwood and husband, Josh of Charlotte, NC, Stevie Lewis and Renee Jamerson of Gold Hill, NC, and Kenny Lewis of Swannanoa, NC; great grandchildren, Matthew Dillingham and wife, Brittany, Kyle Doalson, Tressa Mowery, Dylan Aldridge, Laurel Lacey, Brittany Autumn Dillingham, Brandee Alexandra Dillingham, Tyler Dillingham, Justin Dillingham, Zak Dillingham, and Lachlan Lacey; great-great grandchildren, Emsley Dillingham, Penelope Dillingham, Nathanyal Doalson, Pasileagh Doalson, Kody Van Dyke, Peyton Dillingham, and Martha Mae Dillingham; and her faithful pet, Timmy.
Tressa and Boyd moved to Washington, DC in 1949 where she went to cosmetology school and then had her own hair salon in Arlington, VA. Upon retirement, they moved to Black Mountain, NC to be close to all their children. Being with her family and making them happy is what made her happy. She brought joy to all that knew her and was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 14, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals with a celebration of life service following.
Burial will be at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
