Frederick H. Kruer, 86, of Black Mountain passed away Monday, March 17, 2014.
Fred was born March 18, 1927 in New York to the late Charles and Gretel Kruer. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II. Fred was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. Fred will be remembered as the “kindest, nicest man.”
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma B. Kruer.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Christine Fanelli (Richard) of Florida; sons, Rick Kruer (Eileen) of Arizona and Karl Kruer (Debbie) of New York; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Patrick, Josh, and Emily; great grandchildren, Tyler, Ben, Emily, and Abby and other extended family.
The Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:00am in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Pastor Larry Rabon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in The Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
