Obituary for Laverne Jones Ellis

Laverne Jones  Ellis
Laverne Jones Ellis, 77, of Black Mountain, passed away March 21, 2014.
Mrs. Ellis was born July 14, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late Clifford David and Mary Lassiter Jones.
Laverne was a lab technician at the VA Hospital for numerous years. She loved her family and friends. Laverne will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Biddix of Miami, FL, Clara Peele of Black Mountain, and Barbara Hensley of Black Mountain, and brother, David Jones of Black Mountain.
Laverne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Ellis of the home; sons, Robert Keith Ellis of Black Mountain, David Louis Ellis of Daytona Beach, FL, and Phillip Ryan Ellis of Fletcher; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Gasperson Ellis of Daytona Beach, FL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice for breast cancer research.
