Condolences

Condolence From: Inga Bowyer
Condolence: Mr. Atkinson was my boss at TRW Aerospace in McLean, Virginia back in 1970 - 1972. I remember him as a true professional. He once told me, with great pride, about his Silver Medal at the 1952 Winter Olympics. When our local paper asked its readers if they had a connection to someone who had ever participated in an Olympics, I had to think of Jim Atkinson. After a brief search I came upon his obituary. Condolences to his family. I will never forget him.

Condolence: Dear Kathy,
I am blessed to have known Jim. He was a man of great intelligence and wit. Dwight and I were very fond of him, and always enjoyed his and your hospitality when we would visit. Jim is out of pain now and is at home with the Lord. I will see you this weekend. God Bless You! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Char

Condolence: Kathy,

I was home in Rocky Ford this past weekend, and passed the word of Jim's death along to some of the cousins there. My brothers, Steven and Larry, along with Frances (Lee) Hankerson send our condolences. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I plan to be at the memorial service Saturday. Take care. David Lee.

Condolence: I only really got to meet and become acquainted with Jim in August 1990 while visiting at his home in New Jersey, which in part consisted of a historic log cabin. He and Kathy were hosting my mom and my aunt (Kathy's mom) at the time. And I had come by after being at my two-week long Army training school in Dover, Delaware to pick them up and drive back to Florida. Jim was very friendly and interested in what I was doing. And he showed me much about his tasks as the vice president in charge of security for the Johnson & Johnson Company. I learned a lot from him, especially his approach to things. He was inventive and did things I would not have thought to do. For example, I was impressed that he had subscriptions to intelligence news services delivered to his home so that he could keep instantly abreast of any breaking developments anywhere around the world. He was also very protective. For example, I asked him how the company solved a case that had recently been in the news. But he said he couldn't tell me. It was a secret. It was easy to see why he was so successful in life. He leaves a great legacy which will always be remembered.

Condolence: I will always remember uncle Jim as being somewhat grumpy, but in a humorous way. I always enjoyed our exchanges, and he always had something interesting to contribute to any conversation. He was a very accomplished man and lived a full, rich life. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to aunt Kathy, who has been ever at his side and so attentive over the years. You both will be in my thoughts.

Condolence: We send our love and condolences to Kathryn, Jimmy, Jody and Debbie. Jim will be missed by us, and we loved his good sense of humor. There are many good memories of good cheeses and crackers combined with good conversations. I know you are all at peace, knowing he is with the Lord and out of any pain. He will stay alive in our hearts.

Condolence: When Mike Ackerman and I started our business in 1978, Jim was among the first to give us encouragement. He was a true security professional and brought honor on ASIA and J&J. I will miss him, and he will be in my thoughts and prayers
