I wish that everyone could have the lovely memory of their first grade teacher that I have in Mrs. Whitaker. The older I become the more convinced I am of how important our early childhood experiences are to our development as adults and Mrs. Whitaker was one of those teachers that made a difference. I believe sweetness oozed from her pores. I had the wonderful opportunity to greet her a few years ago and will treasure the picture of us together taken at that time.
