Samuel Fred Davidson, Jr. peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
He was born September 6, 1925, to Fred Davidson, Sr. and Floy Waddell Davidson who preceded him in death along with four brothers, James, Tarver, Chris and Ritchie.
He was a naval veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific. Fred retired from the State of North Carolina Highway Division in 1982. His proud accomplishment was being the Resident Engineer on the construction of the Green River Bridge on I-26.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Harrell Davidson; daughter, Beth Miller (Mike) of Cheyenne, WY; granddaughter, Caroline Miller (Brendan Kenny) of Greenpoint, NY; grandson, Brad Miller of Cheyenne, WY; sister, Dee Cox (Bill) of Black Mt.; sister-in-law, Ethel Davidson of Swannanoa; several nieces; and a nephew.
A celebration of his life will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church where he was a member for over 60 years.
