I only really got to meet and become acquainted with Jim in August 1990 while visiting at his home in New Jersey, which in part consisted of a historic log cabin. He and Kathy were hosting my mom and my aunt (Kathy's mom) at the time. And I had come by after being at my two-week long Army training school in Dover, Delaware to pick them up and drive back to Florida. Jim was very friendly and interested in what I was doing. And he showed me much about his tasks as the vice president in charge of security for the Johnson & Johnson Company. I learned a lot from him, especially his approach to things. He was inventive and did things I would not have thought to do. For example, I was impressed that he had subscriptions to intelligence news services delivered to his home so that he could keep instantly abreast of any breaking developments anywhere around the world. He was also very protective. For example, I asked him how the company solved a case that had recently been in the news. But he said he couldn't tell me. It was a secret. It was easy to see why he was so successful in life. He leaves a great legacy which will always be remembered.
