Candy
I have to share a few things about this wonderful man. I spent lots of time with pappow growing up. Since my mama was a single mother, mammow and pappow would help often with my sister and I. I remembered many weekend visits as I got older. Pappow would give Kristen, Kim, and I a quarter and we would walk up to the Country Food Store and spend it for candy or soda. I will not say how long ago that was, but we could get a small brown bag 1/2 full of candy with that quarter. I remember Sunday Church service and the tap on mammow's leg for a mint. Pappow always would get dry mouth and she would keep certs in her purse for him. Other memories were more recent. If you call or saw him, pappow would say over and over again, "you want to speak to your pretty mammow, or look how pretty your mammow is sitting beside me." Every year until this one, he would call on my birthday and sing to me. Oh, how wonderful that was. I will miss him with all my heart. I am thankful he didn't suffer. I will continue to pray for mammow during this hard time. I will ALWAYS be here if you need me mammow.
